TSX rises as U.S. data lifts hopes on economy

TORONTO (Reuters) - Canada’s main stock index ended higher on Thursday on a stream of U.S. data that lifted investor hopes that the economy of Canada’s largest trading partner is on the mend.

The Toronto Stock Exchange’s S&P/TSX composite index .GSPTSE unofficially closed up 77.92 points, or 0.63 percent, at 12,455.82.
