Verizon sold 1 mln BlackBerry Storms since launch
NEW YORK (Reuters) - Verizon Wireless said on Wednesday that it sold 1 million units of the BlackBerry Storm phone made by Research In Motion RIM.TO from the time of its launch on November 21 and January 27.
Verizon Wireless, a venture of Verizon Communications (VZ.N: Quote) and Vodafone Group Plc (VOD.L: Quote), is the exclusive U.S. provider for the first touchscreen version of RIM's popular BlackBerry devices, which are used for email on-the-go.
The device competes with iPhone from Apple Inc (AAPL.O: Quote). AT&T Inc (T.N: Quote), the exclusive U.S. carrier for iPhone said earlier on Wednesday that it activated 1.9 million iPhones customers to its network in the fourth quarter.
