TORONTO (Reuters) - Activist investor William Ackman's Pershing Square Capital Management is putting together a slate of proposed directors to replace the board of Canadian Pacific Railway Ltd (CP.TO), he said in an interview on Monday.

Ackman also said Hunter Harrison, a former Canadian National Railway (CNR.TO) chief executive and his pick to replace CP Chief Executive Fred Green, is "excited" about the possibility of running the railway.

Pershing will host an investor day in February, Ackman said.
