Suncor sees rising output from Libyan operations

CALGARY, Alberta (Reuters) - Suncor Energy Inc (SU.TO) said on Wednesday that production from its operations in Libya has risen to about 35,000 barrels of oil per day but the company is still cautious about security in the country and only “a handful” of employees have returned to the country.

Steve Williams, chief operating officer for Canada’s largest oil and gas company, said on a conference call that the company’s Libyan partner, Harouge Oil Operations, has resumed production at three of five fields Suncor has an interest in.
