CANADA STOCKS-TSX opens lower as shutdown weighs on energy, bank shares

TORONTO, Oct 7 (Reuters) - Canada's main stock index opened
lower on Monday, led by declines in the financial and energy
sectors, as the U.S. government shutdown extended into its
second week.
    The Toronto Stock Exchange's S&P/TSX composite index
 was down 43.03 points, or 0.34 percent, at 12,715.62
shortly after the open.
