CANADA STOCKS-TSX opens higher as energy, mining shares gain
TORONTO Jan 15 (Reuters) - Canada's main stock index opened higher on Thursday as shares of energy and gold producers jumped with commodity prices, offsetting a decline in the financial sector.
The Toronto Stock Exchange's S&P/TSX composite index was up 33.39 points, or 0.24 percent, at 14,117.82 shortly after the open. (Reporting by John Tilak; Editing by Meredith Mazzilli)
