CANADA STOCKS-TSX rises as Greece hope boosts resource shares

TORONTO, March 8 (Reuters) - Toronto's main stock index rose at the open on Thursday as commodity prices climbed on optimism that Greece would complete a critical private bond swap deal to avoid a messy debt default.

The Toronto Stock Exchange's S&P/TSX composite index climbed 34.53 points, or 0.28 percent, to 12,384.69.
