CANADA STOCKS-TSX rises as miners gain on stimulus hopes

TORONTO, July 31 (Reuters) - Canada's main stock index rose
early on Tuesday, led by mining shares, as investors watched the
U.S. Federal Reserve's two-day monetary policy meeting with
hopes the central bank will suggest further action to stimulate
the economy.
    The Toronto Stock Exchange's S&P/TSX composite index
 was up 24.29 points, or 0.2 percent, at 11,782.17
shortly after the open.
