CANADA STOCKS-TSX ends lower; hurt by banks, energy stocks

TORONTO, Aug 8 (Reuters) - Canada's benchmark stock index
closed lower on Thursday, weighed down by drops in heavyweight
energy, financial and mining stocks, which eclipsed a strong
showing from the country's largest telecom player, BCE Inc
    The Toronto Stock Exchange's S&P/TSX composite index
 unofficially closed down 82.41 points, or 0.69
percent, at 11,781.09.
