CANADA STOCKS-TSX closes higher; banks lead charge

TORONTO, Aug 17 (Reuters) - Canada's main stock index closed
higher for a second straight week on Friday as banks and energy
companies pushed higher and political backing for European
central bank action lent support.
    The Toronto Stock Exchange's S&P/TSX composite index
 unofficially closed up 57.31 points, or 0.48 percent,
at 12,089.89.
