CANADA STOCKS-TSX opens higher on positive China data

TORONTO, April 9 (Reuters) - Canada's main stock index
opened higher on Tuesday, led by gains in the material and
financial sectors, as investors were encouraged by positive
economic data from China. 
    The Toronto Stock Exchange's S&P/TSX composite index
 was up 23.17 points, or 0.19 percent, at 12,367.73
shortly after the open.
