TORONTO, Aug 28 (Reuters) - Canada's main stock index opened
higher on Wednesday as rising commodity prices helped lift
shares of energy and materials companies, offsetting concerns
about potential military action against Syria.
The Toronto Stock Exchange's S&P/TSX composite index
was up 16.39 points, or 0.13 percent, at 12,607.60 in
early trade, after briefly turning lower.
