CANADA STOCKS-TSX opens lower on China data

TORONTO, Jan 23 (Reuters) - Canada's main stock index opened
lower on Thursday after manufacturing data from China
disappointed investors, weighing on shares of financial and
energy companies.
    The Toronto Stock Exchange's S&P/TSX composite index
 was down 17.63 points, or 0.13 percent, at 13,970.51
shortly after the open.
