 TORONTO, Jan 22 (Reuters) - Canada's main stock index
soared more than 300 points on Tuesday morning, a day after it
plunged more than 600 points on economic fears.
 Here are some of the biggest daily swings on the Toronto
Stock Exchange's S&P/TSX composite index .GSPTSE since Feb.
16, 2001, when tech giant Nortel Networks NT.TO cut its
revenue forecast in half and announced mass layoffs, sending
the benchmark down 6.4 percent.
 TSX closing lows:
 Jan. 21, 2008  - down 604.99 points, or 4.75 percent.
 April 28, 2004 - down 300.17 points, or 3.52 percent.
 Sept. 11, 2001 - down 295.90 points, or 4.03 percent.
 Feb. 16, 2001  - down 574.04 points, or 6.40 percent.
 TSX closing highs:
 Oct. 31, 2007  - up 312.92 points, or 2.19 percent.
 June 15, 2006  - up 252.48 points, or 2.30 percent.
 May 4, 2004    - up 198.25 points, or 2.40 percent.
 Oct. 15, 2002  - up 240.78 points, or 4.03 percent.
