CANADA STOCKS-TSX rises 4 pct on higher commodities
TORONTO Oct 29 (Reuters) - The Toronto Stock Exchange's main index rose more than 4 percent on Wednesday afternoon as energy and materials rose on strength in commodity prices.
The S&P/TSX composite index .GSPTSE was up 404.84 points, or 4.42 percent, at 9,556.47.
Before resuming its rally, the index had pared gains along with U.S. stocks after the U.S. Federal Reserve cut its benchmark fed funds rate by 50 basis points to 1 percent, (Reporting by Ka Yan Ng; Editing by Frank McGurty)
