TORONTO, Oct 8 (Reuters) - Toronto's main index rose
shortly after the open on Friday despite weaker jobs data in
Canada and the United States, with investors taking the U.S.
data as a signal that the U.S. Federal Reserve may take more
action to stimulate the economy.
The S&P/TSX composite index .GSPTSE was up 13.84 points,
or 0.11 percent, to 12,459.77.
