CANADA STOCKS-TSX falls on weak data, U.S. debt fears

TORONTO, July 29 (Reuters) - Toronto's main stock index
closed lower on Friday after weak economic data on both sides
of the border and an impasse in U.S. debt talks sent investors
into safer assets ahead of a holiday weekend.
The Toronto Stock Exchange's S&P/TSX composite index
.GSPTSE unofficially closed down 102.15 points, or 0.78
percent, at 12,945.63.
