CANADA STOCKS-TSX opens higher on commodities, US earnings

 TORONTO, Aug 17 (Reuters) - Toronto's main stock market
index opened higher on Wednesday as rising commodity prices and
healthy U.S. earnings boosted market sentiment.
 The Toronto Stock Exchange's S&P/TSX composite index
.GSPTSE opened up 11.55 points, or 0.09 percent, at
12,542.26, before extending gains.
