CANADA STOCKS-TSX edges up on China, euro zone data

 TORONTO, Aug 23 (Reuters) - Toronto's main stock market
index was higher in early action on Tuesday after Chinese and
euro zone economic data came in less gloomy than feared and
some commodity prices firmed.
 The Toronto Stock Exchange's S&P/TSX composite index
.GSPTSE was up 48.37 points, or 0.4 percent, at 12,116.73,
after opening slightly lower.
