CANADA STOCKS-TSX up 2 percent as banks, resources rally
TORONTO, Aug 23 (Reuters) - Toronto's main stock index extended gains 2 percent on Tuesday afternoon as resource issues and financials rallied on higher commodity prices and better than expected bank earnings.
The Toronto Stock Exchange's S&P/TSX composite index .GSPTSE rose 241.89 points, or 2.0 percent, to 12,310.25. (Reporting by Claire Sibonney; editing by Rob Wilson)
