CANADA STOCKS-TSX struggles for direction at open

 TORONTO, Sept 1 (Reuters) -  Toronto's main stock market index opened flat on Thursday after better-than-expected earnings from Toronto-Dominion Bank (TD.TO) and decent U.S. jobless data was offset by disappointing global manufacturing reports.
 The Toronto Stock Exchange's S&P/TSX composite index .GSPTSE opened down 3.18 points at 12,765.52.  (Reporting by Claire Sibonney; editing by Peter Galloway)
