CANADA STOCKS-TSX opens higher, helped by U.S. data, earnings

TORONTO, Oct 26 (Reuters) - Toronto's main stock index opened higher on Wednesday, helped by solid U.S. data and corporate earnings that offset concerns about the outcome of a summit on Europe's debt crisis.

The Toronto Stock Exchange's S&P/TSX composite index .GSPTSE opened up 7.63 points, or 0.06 percent, at 12,117.38. (Reporting by Jon Cook; Editing by Jeffrey Hodgson)
