CANADA STOCKS-TSX rises on banks

1 Min Read

TORONTO, May 31 (Reuters) - Toronto's main stock index
turned briefly higher on Thursday as financial issues were
lifted by strong second-quarter bank earnings and as oil and
gold firms pared earlier losses, despite disappointing U.S. data
and ongoing euro zone debt worries.
The Toronto Stock Exchange's S&P/TSX composite index
was briefly positive, up 5.2 points at 11,438.42.
