CANADA STOCKS-TSX falls as U.S. data dims stimulus hopes

TORONTO, July 31 (Reuters) - Canada's main stock index reversed early gains on Tuesday, led lower by energy shares after upbeat U.S. data dimmed hopes that the Federal Reserve would act to stimulate the sluggish economy.

The Toronto Stock Exchange's S&P/TSX composite index was down 6.93 points, or 0.1 percent, at 11,750.95.
