CANADA STOCKS-TSX treading water at open; miners up
TORONTO Aug 22 (Reuters) - Canada's main stock index briefly broke into positive territory in early trade on Wednesday but struggled to find a direction as miners gains were offset by falls in banks and energy companies.
At 9:52 a.m. (1352 GMT) the Toronto Stock Exchange's S&P/TSX composite index was up 4.55 points at 12,121.47. It had opened in negative territory.
