CANADA STOCKS-TSX turns positive; banks lead rise
TORONTO Aug 24 (Reuters) - Canada's main stock index turned positive on Friday as bank stocks rose ahead of their earning season, offsetting a retreat from gold miners.
At 10:24 a.m. (1424 GMT) the Toronto Stock Exchange's S&P/TSX composite index was up 22 points, or 0.16 percent, at 12,082.35. It had opened the session in negative territory.
