CANADA STOCKS-TSX turns lower as golds offset strength in banks

TORONTO, July 12 (Reuters) - Canada's main stock index
turned negative on Friday as a drop in shares of gold-mining
stocks, which followed the price of bullion lower, offset gains
in financials.
    The Toronto Stock Exchange's S&P/TSX composite index
 was down 1.45 points, or 0.01 percent, at 12,491.81 in
mid-morning trade.
