OTTAWA Jan 2 (Reuters) - Toronto's main stock index jumped more than 2 percent on Friday, as an energy sector rally helped power a fourth straight session of triple-digit gains to usher in the new year.

The S&P/TSX composite index .GSPTSE rose 223.41 points, or 2.5 percent, to unofficially close at 9,211.11. (Reporting by Susan Taylor; editing by Rob Wilson)
