Toronto stocks rise on resource issues

TORONTO, Dec 12 (Reuters) - The Toronto Stock Exchange's main index ended higher on Wednesday on the back of rising energy and mining stocks, but was down from its early-session highs.

The S&P/TSX composite index rose 79.07 points, or 0.58 percent, to unofficially close at 13,802.78. ($1=$1.01 Canadian) (Reporting by Cameron French; Editing by Peter Galloway)
