Shakey Toronto stock index in 300-point dive

TORONTO, Jan 23 (Reuters) - The Toronto Stock Exchange’s main index stumbled more than 300 points on Wednesday morning, shaken once again by the prospect of a slowing global economy and falling commodity prices.

The S&P/TSX composite index .GSPTSE was down 312.24 points, or 2.5 percent, at 12,328.64 shortly after trading began.
