Toronto stocks climb into positive territory

TORONTO, Jan 23 (Reuters) - The Toronto Stock Exchange's main index bounced into positive territory late on Wednesday afternoon, after falling by as much as 400 points earlier in the day, as a rally in the banking sector offset sagging resource shares.

The S&P/TSX composite index .GSPTSE was up 2.75 points, or 0.02 percent, at 12,643.63 shortly before the closing bell. (Reporting by Leah Schnurr; Editing by Rob Wilson)
