Toronto stock index jumps 300 points
TORONTO Jan 24 (Reuters) - The main index of the Toronto Stock Exchange added more than 300 points on Thursday morning, led by Potash Corp of Saskatchewan (POT.TO: Quote), as commodity prices and the prospect of more interest rate cuts lifted shares.
The S&P/TSX composite index .GSPTSE was up 301.26 points, or 2.4 percent, at 12,958.66 shortly after trading began.
