Toronto stocks lifted by Potash, commodities

TORONTO, Jan 24 (Reuters) - The Toronto Stock Exchange's main index ended strongly higher on Thursday, pulled up by gains by Potash Corp of Saskatchewan (POT.TO), robust commodity prices and hopes of further interest rate cuts.

The S&P/TSX composite index .GSPTSE unofficially closed up 262.93 points, or 2.08 percent, at 12,920.33. (Reporting by Leah Schnurr; Editing by Peter Galloway)
