Toronto stocks retreat into negative territory

TORONTO Jan 25 (Reuters) - The Toronto Stock Exchange's main index fell into negative territory on Friday afternoon, after jumping more than 200 points just after the open, as weak financials undercut gains in resource issues.

The S&P/TSX composite index .GSPTSE was down 1.60 points at 12,905.67. (Reporting by Leah Schnurr; Editing by Peter Galloway)
