TORONTO, Jan 31 (Reuters) - The Toronto Stock Exchange's main index pushed higher on Thursday as investors snapped up stocks that have been beaten down by worries over the health of the global economy and fallout in the financial sectors.

The S&P/TSX composite index .GSPTSE was up 101.25 points, or 0.8 percent, at 13,099.46 after falling more than 170 points shortly after the opening bell. (Reporting by Leah Schnurr; Editing by Peter Galloway)
