TORONTO Feb 28 (Reuters) - The Toronto Stock Exchange's main index ended higher on Thursday, spurred by resource issues as commodity prices surged, and gains from Canadian Natural Resources (CNQ.TO: Quote) after it said its profit more than doubled.

The S&P/TSX composite index .GSPTSE unofficially closed up 95.60 points, or 0.69 percent, at 13,873.98. (Reporting by Leah Schnurr; editing by Rob Wilson)
