Toronto stock index punches higher, up 100 points

TORONTO, March 13 (Reuters) - The Toronto Stock Exchange’s main index rose more than 100 points on Thursday afternoon, recovering from a earlier drop with the help of soaring materials and energy issues that benefited from rising commodity prices.

The S&P/TSX composite index .GSPTSE was up 102.67 points, or 0.8 percent, at 13,400.02.
