Toronto stocks jump 200 points in broad rally

TORONTO, March 24 (Reuters) - Toronto’s main stock market index shot up more than 200 points by midmorning on Monday as investors temporarily shrugged off worries about the crumbling global economy.

The Toronto Stock Exchange’s S&P/TSX composite index .GSPTSE was up 201.57 points, or 1.6 percent, at 12,977.21. ($1=$1.02 Canadian) (Reporting by Scott Anderson; Editing by Bernadette Baum)
