Toronto stocks jump as financials rally

TORONTO, March 24 (Reuters) - Rallying financial issues helped pull the Toronto Stock Exchange’s main index strongly higher on Monday, amid increased confidence in the value of bank stocks and bargain-hunting.

The S&P/TSX composite index .GSPTSE unofficially closed up 214.15 points, or 1.68 percent, at 12,989.79. (Reporting by Leah Schnurr; editing by Rob Wilson)
