Toronto stocks yanked higher as banks get boost

TORONTO, April 1 (Reuters) - The Toronto Stock Exchange's main index drove higher on Tuesday as banking issues were buoyed by more positive sentiment over stability in financial markets.

The S&P/TSX composite index .GSPTSE unofficially closed up 88.15 points, or 0.66 percent, at 13,438.28. (Reporting by Leah Schnurr; Editing by Peter Galloway)
