TORONTO, April 8 (Reuters) - The Toronto Stock Exchange's main index snapped its six-day winning streak to close slightly lower on Tuesday, hurt by softer commodities and recurrent worries over the impact of an economic slowdown south of the border.

The S&P/TSX composite index .GSPTSE unofficially closed down 16.16 points, or 0.12 percent, at 13,728.85. (Reporting by Leah Schnurr; Editing by Peter Galloway)
