Toronto stocks slump on economic jitters, GE
TORONTO, April 11 (Reuters) - The Toronto Stock Exchange's main index slid further on Friday, dropping 200 points, as worries over the prospects for earnings season and the larger economy were underscored by disappointing results from U.S. bellwether General Electric (GE.N: Quote).
The S&P/TSX composite index .GSPTSE was down 200.97 points, or 1.44 percent, at 13,708.61 in the midafternoon. (Reporting by Leah Schnurr; editing by Renato Andrade)
