TORONTO, April 14 (Reuters) - The Toronto Stock Exchange's main index finished higher on Monday, propped up by robust energy shares that offset worries about the prospects for earnings season and more fallout from the credit crunch.

The S&P/TSX composite index .GSPTSE unofficially closed up 42.86 points, or 0.31 percent, at 13,725.89. (Reporting by Leah Schnurr; Editing by Peter Galloway)
