Toronto stocks boosted by record oil price

TORONTO, April 15 (Reuters) - A record high for oil prices drove the Toronto Stock Exchange's main index upward on Tuesday, boosting resource shares and overshadowing lingering worries about a weaker earnings season.

The S&P/TSX composite index .GSPTSE unofficially closed up 108.77 points, or 0.79 percent, at 13,847.37. (Reporting by Leah Schnurr; Editing by Peter Galloway)
