Toronto stocks rise 100 points, helped by gold
TORONTO, April 16 (Reuters) - Toronto's main stock market index jumped more than 100 points at midmorning on Wednesday as a strong rise in the price of gold propped up the resource-laden market.
The Toronto Stock Exchange's S&P/TSX composite index .GSPTSE was up 100.82 points, or 0.7 percent, at 13,951.77. (Reporting by Scott Anderson; Editing by Peter Galloway)
