Toronto stocks surge 200 pts as commodities rise
TORONTO, April 16 (Reuters) - The Toronto Stock Exchange's main index surged on Wednesday, boosted by rising commodities, while shares of fertilizer companies benefited from a spike in the price of potash exports to China.
The S&P/TSX composite index .GSPTSE was up 200.43 points, or 1.45 percent, at 14,051.38 in the afternoon. (Reporting by Leah Schnurr; editing by Rob Wilson)
