Toronto stocks get big boost from commodities

TORONTO, May 2 (Reuters) - The Toronto Stock Exchange's main index powered sharply higher on Friday, spurred on by resurgent resources and easing worries over the health of the U.S. economy.

The S&P/TSX composite index .GSPTSE unofficially closed up 201.20 points, or 1.43 percent, at 14,267.01. (Reporting by Leah Schnurr; editing by Rob Wilson)
