Toronto stocks slide with commodities

TORONTO, May 27 (Reuters) - Tumbling resource shares led the Toronto Stock Exchange’s main index sharply lower on Tuesday, as energy and materials issues were hit by skidding commodity prices.

The S&P/TSX composite index .GSPTSE unofficially closed down 219.36 points, or 1.49 percent, at 14,539.21. (Reporting by Leah Schnurr; editing by Rob Wilson)
