TORONTO, June 24 (Reuters) - The Toronto Stock Exchange's main index slid 100 points shortly after the opening bell on Tuesday, dragged by weak resource shares as the price of oil softened.

The S&P/TSX composite index .GSPTSE was down 100.20 points, or 0.7 percent, at 14,591.62. (Reporting by Leah Schnurr; Editing by Ka Yan Ng)
