Toronto stock index swoons in broad selloff

TORONTO, July 2 (Reuters) - The Toronto Stock Exchange’s main index plunged more than 400 points in a massive selloff on Wednesday as economic sentiment darkened and coal companies saw their shares plunge alongside the price of the commodity.

The S&P/TSX composite index .GSPTSE fell 436.26 points, or 3.02 percent, to unofficially close at 14,030.77. (Reporting by Wojtek Dabrowski; editing by Peter Galloway)
